Food of love

Keeping Valentine’s Day theme going through the week, I wanted to have something special for lunch. The mood was set with a beautiful flower bouquet my dad got me and it was easy to think of a tasty dish. A twist on a classic favorite dessert, hearts banana split combines my favorite flavors in a cool shape. Heart bananas are filled with a pear puree and finished with a sprinkle of sweet potato.

Guests from abroad

Today I sit and wait with anticipation for my cousin and uncle who are coming to see me all the way from Canada. They have been driving for a whole day, but I hope they will not be too tired and will have enough strength to play with me. I have been practicing new songs and rhymes so that I could entertain them :)

The circus is in town

Playing with my food is fun, but playing with mom’s food is even better :)

An apple a day keeps the doctor away

Trying apples for the first time is exciting. And I found just the right kind too!

Perfecting breakfast

I have become a real expert in eating with a spoon and my technique is almost impeccable. When the food is sticky – I blow bubbles. When the food is cold – I push it out with my tongue. When the food is colorful – I get as much of it on my fingers as I can and paint everything in sight. When I am full I store some in my cheeks and when the time is right I make a raspberry sound and irrigate the surroundings. When I really want to make an impression, I wait till the spoon is right by my lips and I sneeze and sneeze.

Happy birthday dear Jacob!

Dear Jacob, have a wonderful birthday! May it be grand from the beginning to end. Have loads of fun, play silly games, and eat lots of cake :)

Yesterday was my friend Jacob’s birthday party. I met many of people, played with balloons, and sang a happy birthday song. Jacob is a big boy already, a whole 2 years old. He’s is a very special friend as he was a witness at my parents’ wedding. When I grow up, I’ll ask him all about it.

Rory 0.7

Yesterday I turned seven months. As a reward, I thought I’d give myself a day off from my job as a blog writer and photo editor. And to be honest, there was so much excitement in the air that I doubt I would be able to concentrate on writing. Turning seven months was lots of fun. First I had a little party with my friends Zebra and Sophie the Giraffe where we sat in a circle and sang songs, played clapping games and counting rhymes. Then my real live friend David came for a play date. I haven’t interacted with David before, so I didn’t know if we would have anything in common. But he was very nice and we had a really good time. We told each other stories, held hands, and even played footsie. He brought me the softest little sheep named Dasha. I also got presents from my friend Rachel, who I hope to see soon so that I can say “Thank you!” for all the wonderful books and clothes she got me.
