Presents from afar

Dear Polish Santa Claus,                                                                                                  Sent me presents from the North,                                                                               Warmest mittens, boots, and vest.                                                                                    Jadviga,  Andrzej, you’re the best!

And thanks, Inessa, for the dress :)

High Tech Baby

My friend Sabrina stopped by yesterday evening for a quick visit. We have not seen each other in a long while and I was very glad she was able to come and say “hi”. She brought a gift for me and when I opened it, I could not believe it. My very first computer! I was too tired to try it out yesterday, but I couldn’t wait to wake up and play with it today. When I pressed a button and lights came on, I forgot to breath for a second.

Assembly instructions

Some time ago my grandparents got me a highchair to use in their house. Its been standing there for a while and being a good granddaughter that I am, I volunteered to put it together.  I came up with an easy five step assembly instructions that will work for any furniture assembly.

Step 1: Unpack everything

Step 2: Find the most interesting part and see if it tastes as Continue reading

ID please

Since I’m a very spontaneous person and like to travel on short notice, I decided it was time for me to get a US passport. I filled out an application, made an appointment at a post office, and had my first official picture taken. For now, I just have to sit and wait, and let my imagination take flight thinking what exotic places I will visit next.

Measuring up

I had my six months doctor’s appointment yesterday. It was a routine check up where the doctor weighed and measured me as usual. I tipped the scale at almost 16lb (15lb 14oz to be exact) and measured 26 3/4in. So today, I decided to see if I grew some more over night (it’s a known fact that babies grow faster when they sleep). But measuring oneself is not as easy as it looks.

Aunts are the best

I had a very fun weekend, since my aunts and uncle came to visit. We haven’t seen each other since the last year, so they brought me lots of presents. I was a very good host, did not go to sleep even for a minute. I was entertaining the the best I could: playing games, laughing, blowing raspberries, and singing. I think they should come over more often, because they are so much fun to hang out with.

Sunday morning

It’s been a tiresome week and all I wanted to do is to sleep in on the weekend. But no! Mom woke up at 7am and sat there looking at me. Who can sleep like that? So I turned my head to the other side. Mom walked around to check if i was still asleep. So again I turned my head to the other side, making sure I didn’t open my eyes before she scoops me up. Finally, she walked out of the room and I thought I can sleep in peace. Just as I was beginning to dream papa came in to check on me. I held my eyes shut tight and tried very hard not to wake up. They kept on circling me like hawks, but I am happy to report I’ve managed to sleep till 9 :)

Its a beautiful day!

What should I wear today?

Potty time

A big gift box under the tree contained an unusual object. Smooth and white, with a hole for a seat, its neither a chair nor a bouncy seat, and it doesn’t require a diaper. Parents make funny noises when they sit me on it and tell me I’ve produced some successful results.

First real breakfast

Let me tell you, its not easy to eat from a spoon, I had to change all my clothes afterwards, as spoons are so messy. I tried dipping my fingers into the plate and then licking them, surely it would have been easier, but parents said “no”. I also tried sticking my tongue out and licking the plate, just like Pixel has showed me, but parents said “no” again. Trying to  knock the spoon out and flipping the plate did not deter my parents either, and they persisted to spoon-feed me. Overall, rice cereal is not so bad. I think we will try again tomorrow.
